Root Cause Analysis: Simplified Tools and Techniques
Published in Paperback by American Society for Quality (08 December, 1999)
Authors: Bjorn Andersen, Tom Fagerhaug, Bjorn Anderson, and Bjrn Andersen
Average review score:

Great hands-on root cause analysis tools
After looking through many books on root cause analysis, I came across this books published by the American Society for Quality (ASQ). While most books on root cause analysis go deeply into the theory and the concepts of the topic, this book presents, as the subtitle states, simplified tools and techniques that can be easily applied to any organization. At my employer -- a medical device company --, we have trained over 100 employees using the Andersen/Fagerhaug book to solve technical as well as staffing issues. I highly recommend the book for use at all levels of an organization.

Rotary Cutting With Alex Anderson: Tips, Techniques, Projects
Published in Paperback by C & T Pub (July, 1999)
Authors: Alex Anderson, Liz Aneloski, and Sally Lanzarotti
Average review score:

Particularly useful for left-handed quilters!
I am a relatively new quilter, and left-handed to boot. Most other quilting books I've read have illustrations to demonstrate cutting techniques, but the pictures feature the right hand only! Alex, being a lefty herself, thoughtfully includes rotary cutting illustrations for both the right AND left-handed among us. It really helped me with my cutting! I highly recommend it for new quilters and lefty quilters alike. :)

The Rough Guide Rocky Mountains (Rough Guides)

Authors: Alf Anderson, Christian Williams, Cameron Wilson, and Rough Guides
Average review score:

Great book!
I've lived in Denver for 5 years and still learnt a lot from this book. Great info for Front-Range dwellers. I've also used it for trips over to Utah and Yellowstone. I've used Rough Guides since 1989 for trips through Europe and the Middle East. They are the best and I was very happy to find that they'd produced a guide to my own back yard. Enjoy!

Sadie's Trade (The Latter-Day Daughters Series)
Published in Paperback by Deseret Books (September, 1998)
Author: Launi K. Anderson
Average review score:

Good for young girls
My daughter is a big fan of the American Girls series. I think it's great to get her interested in history, so this series about young LDS girls from the past promised to be a great idea. This is the first book I bought from the series. My daughter likes it a lot. Sadie is young girl from Pleasant Grove Utah in 1856. Her parents are struggling to teach their children good values and to live their religion. After her parents go to General Conference in Salt Lake, Sadie is left to run the household and take care of her brothers and sisters. It's a lot harder than it sounds! I think this book will make girls appreciate how different pioneer life really was.

Safety First: The Making of New Labour
Published in Paperback by Granta Books (March, 1999)
Authors: Paul Anderson and Nyta Mann
Average review score:

Excellent reference work and a damn good read
Safety First: The Making of New Labour is about the best book on New Labour coming to power, where they came from, where they're likely to go and what they're really about that I've read so far - and I've read many. It traces all those now-so-grand figures of New Labour from their beginnings - the authors are in absolute command of their subject. All the key politicians have got form as long as your arm, most of which they'd like to forget, but this book puts it all in good hard context.

It's excellent as a reference work too - exactly when did all those twists and turns of key policy positions take place, and why? Plus it's very useful as a history book - unlike New Labour, it doesn't only go as far back as 1994. It usefully and readably covers all the important strands of political thinking in Labour all the way through its existence. It also shows up the wonderful relation between principle and expediency, and how when a crunch point comes, expediency expediency, expediency wins without fail. And though I'd definitely say this book is unmistakable polemical, it's all shown with reference to hard fact, not dull rant. But it's also a hilarious read - witty and cutting in parts, and always absolutely on the ball. I'd recommend anyone who wants to know anything about these characters to start here. I especially liked the chapters on Jack Straw and home affairs, and Peter Mandelson.

Not exactly sure where the authors come from politically - the cover cites left-press backgrounds, though, and I'd guess they position themselves on the critical libertarian left. But it's not at all po-faced - refreshingly biting and irreverent, while extremely informative.

I've recommended this book to all my friends interested in Brit pols. And even though it was published at the end of 1997, the same year Labour won the election, and I read it in 1999, it isn't dated or time-tied. I'm sure I'll keep going back to it to check things from it.

I look forward to anything else by these two - not enough writers on the left like them.

The results aren't very well. They found a cancerous tumor ,will they have to say Good Bye ? This is a great book and I really loved it. I am an animal lover so that's one reason I loved this book.It also is realistic, not everything is all happy all the time ,this book was also very sad as you feel like you become Zoe you feel like her ,cry with her, and rejoice with her. I believe any animal lover ought to read this.

Scanning: The Aberrant Architectures of Diller + Scofidio
Published in Hardcover by Whitney Museum of American Art (01 March, 2003)
Authors: Aaron Betsky, K. Michael Hays, and Laurie Anderson
Average review score:

The Aberrant Architecture of Diller + Scofidio
The companion book to an exhibition at the Whitney, which runs through June 1, is a work of art in itself. The lenticular plastic cover shimmers enigmatically; folded pages with elliptical cuts allow you to peer inside, propelling you through the book in search of what can be imperfectly glimpsed. It's an appropriate, teasing metaphor for this collection of installations, exhibits, and as yet unrealized projects, plus Blur from the Swiss Expo 02. Elizabeth Diller and Ricardo Scofidio ponder our obsession with display and call everything into question. (Michael Webb is the book reviewer for LA Architect magazine.)
